Mitey the yeti checking the numbers
    1. 1Have customers or suppliers asked to pay or be paid with stablecoins or crypto-assets?

Demand you can name beats demand you assume.

    2. 2How much of your revenue comes from payers outside Canada?

Blockchain rails tend to matter most where cards and wires are slow or costly.

    3. 3What is your typical payment size?

Fixed network fees weigh more on small payments; percentage fees weigh more on large ones.

    4. 4Are chargebacks or payment reversals a material cost for you today?

Irreversible payments remove chargebacks, but also remove the payer protections your customers may expect.

    5. 5Do you have a written policy for when received crypto-assets are converted to CAD?

For example: convert immediately, convert daily, or hold within a set cap.

    6. 6Can your bookkeeping record the CAD fair market value, rate source and transaction hash for each payment?

The CRA expects CAD values at the time of the transaction and supporting records.

    7. 7Do you have a refund policy that covers on-chain payments (which rate, which address, who approves)?

Refunds are new outgoing transactions; they need address verification and approval.

    8. 8Would you only accept payment for goods or services you supply yourself, or also move value for others?

FINTRAC treats dealing in virtual currency (exchange or transfer for others) as an MSB activity.

    9. 9Do you know how GST/HST applies when payment arrives as a crypto-asset?

CRA: registrants calculate GST/HST on the fair market value of the crypto-asset at the time of the transaction.

    10. 10If you would use a provider, have you checked its registrations (e.g. Bank of Canada PSP registry, FINTRAC MSB registry)?

Registration is not endorsement, but missing registration is a red flag where it is required.

    11. 11If you self-host a wallet, who controls the keys, and is approval split between people?

One person holding a seed phrase is a single point of failure and a fraud risk.

    12. 12Would you start with a capped pilot (limited volume, limited time, clear exit)?

A pilot turns unknowns into measured numbers before you commit.
